掃地裝香。換籌洗廁。燒湯添水。須是及時。稍有狼籍隨即淨治。手巾淨桶點檢添換。凡供此職皆是自發道心。將交替時。堂司預出小榜云（下次淨頭缺人如有結緣請留芳名）願結緣者收榜白堂司。然後覆住持請充之。

Sweeping the ground, placing incense, replacing toilet spatulas, cleaning the latrines, boiling hot water, and refilling water must all be done in a timely manner. If there is the slightest mess, he immediately cleans it. He checks, refills, and changes hand towels and clean buckets. Those who serve in this office all do so out of their own spontaneous resolve for the Way. When the term is about to rotate, the hall administration posts a small notice in advance stating: (The post of latrine attendant will soon be vacant; if anyone wishes to form affinity, please leave your esteemed name.) Whoever wishes to form affinity takes down the notice, informs the hall administration, and after reporting to the abbot, is invited to fill the post.
