草飯罷。維那令堂司行者。請新舊侍者。并聖僧侍者。參前就寮獻湯。堂司設位排照牌。請寮元。光伴鳴寮前板。接入揖坐（禮與庫司同）當在方丈特為湯之先。庶不相妨行禮。候方丈特為新首座茶罷。則堂司亦請新舊侍者特為茶。次日當專致謝。

After the herb meal, the karmadāna directs the hall office postulants to invite the new and former attendants, as well as the sacred monk's attendant, to come to the dormitory before the evening gathering for an offering of hot water. The hall office sets up the seats and arranges the seat-name plaques, inviting the dormitory head to grace the company. The board in front of the dormitory is struck. They are welcomed in and bowed to their seats. (The protocol is the same as that of the monastery storehouse.) This should take place before the abbot's special hospitality of hot water, so that the rituals do not interfere with each other. After the abbot's special hospitality of tea for the new head seat is finished, the hall office also invites the new and former attendants for a special hospitality of tea. The next day, they should make a special visit to express thanks.
