維那於兩序進退三日後。未開靜時。分付堂司行者。引人力排燈。請舊首座都寺。就堂司獻湯。維那接入。炷香喫湯畢。白云（清職既滿山門禮合。延送鉢位）引至僧堂。從後門入。先送首座。次送都寺歸各板頭。各觸禮一拜。當日掛鉢赴堂。

Three days after the advancement and retirement of the two ranks, before the end of the dawn meditation, the karmadāna instructs the hall office postulants to lead laborers in arranging lanterns, and invites the former head seat and chief prior to the hall office for an offering of hot water. The karmadāna welcomes them in. When they have burnt incense and finished drinking the hot water, he announces, saying, "Now that your pure offices are fulfilled, it is fitting according to monastery protocol to escort you to your bowl positions." He leads them to the Sangha hall, entering through the rear door. He first escorts the head seat and then the chief prior to their respective board ends. Each makes one prostration touching the mat. On that day, they hang up their bowls and enter the hall.
