新到或迫緣故來不及時。或止掛搭不得通覆。不拘處所。纔迎見住持即拋香于前云（暫到禮拜和尚）觸禮一拜。隨自收香伺求掛搭。如住持許容則侍司發榜下堂司。禮同前。若圖帳已定。則詣堂司稟添名入圖。或人多列戒次後。

When new arrivals come past the proper time due to pressing circumstances, or when hanging up the pack has been halted and cannot be formally reported, then regardless of the place, as soon as they meet the abbot, they cast incense down before him and say: '(Temporary arrivals pay homage to the upādhyāya),' and make one prostration touching the mat. Thereupon they retrieve their incense themselves and await permission to hang up their packs. If the abbot grants permission, the attendant office issues a notice down to the hall office, the ritual being the same as before. If the seat chart has already been fixed, they proceed to the hall office to request that their names be added to the chart; or, if there are many people, they are listed behind those of the same ordination rank.
