凡維那揖住持兩序。出班上香時。藏殿祝贊轉輪時。行者鳴之。遇迎引送亡時。行者披剃。大眾行道。接新住持入院時。皆鳴之。

Whenever the karmadāna bows to the abbot and the two ranks as they leave their rows to offer incense, and in the canon hall during praises and blessings and the turning of the revolving case, postulants strike them. Whenever receiving, guiding, or seeing off the deceased, when postulants are tonsured, when the assembly practices the path, and when welcoming a new abbot into the monastery, they are struck in all cases.
