右一部三十卷。湘東王記室虞孝敬撰該羅經論所有要事。備皆收錄。頗同皇覽類苑之流。敬法出家召命入關。亦更有著述云。然此博要亦是內學群部之要逕也。

The above single work in thirty fascicles was compiled by Yu Xiaojing, Secretary to the King of Xiangdong. It gathered all important matters contained in the sūtras and treatises and recorded them thoroughly, quite like works such as the Imperial Mirror or the Garden of Classified Matters. Xiaojing followed the Dharma and left household life; summoned by imperial command, he entered the Pass, and it is said that he also had other writings. Indeed, this Broad Essentials is an essential pathway into the various sections of Buddhist study.
