The above two works, totaling five fascicles. In the reign of Emperor An, the Tripiṭaka Vinaya master Vimalākṣa of the country of Jibin—in the language of Jin, Wugouyan—arrived in Chang'an in the eighth year of Hongshi of the Yao Qin. When Kumārajīva passed away, he went to Shouchun and stayed at Shijian Monastery. Vinaya disciples gathered like clouds, and he broadly propagated the Vinaya. The Daśabhāṇavāra translated by Kumārajīva was in fifty-eight fascicles; Vimalākṣa subsequently expanded it into sixty-one fascicles, changing 'Shansong' to 'Pini song', hence there are two names today. Later, he went to Jiangling and produced the Lü zashi (Miscellaneous Matters of the Vinaya); transcribed by Huiguan of Daochang Monastery, it circulated widely in the world and has been transmitted down to the present day.
