機運無停住。倏忽歲時過。巨石會當竭。芥子誰云多。良由去不息。故令川上嗟。不聞榮啟期。皓首發清歌。布衣可暖身。誰論飾綾羅。今世雖云樂當奈後生何。罪福良由己。寧云己恤他。度既志懷匪石不可迴轉。苕華感悟亦起深信。度於是專精佛法講味群經。所以著旨歸釋阿毘曇也。

"The turning of destiny never halts; / In an instant the seasons pass by. / Even a great stone must come to an end; / Who says that mustard seeds are many? / Truly because parting knows no rest, / It called forth that sigh by the river. / Have you not heard of Rong Qiqi, / Whose white head burst into clear song? / Coarse cloth can warm the body; / Who needs to speak of adorning oneself in fine silk? / Though this life may be called joyful, / What will you do about the life to come? / Sins and blessings truly stem from oneself; / How can one speak of pitying another?" / As Du's aspiration was firm as stone and could not be turned back, Tiaohua was moved to awakening and also gave rise to deep faith. Thereupon, Du dedicated himself to the Buddhadharma and lectured on and savored the various sūtras; hence he composed this Zhigui to explain the Abhidharma.
