The two works above, in two fascicles, were translated by the Tripiṭaka Dharma Master Vinītaruci (in Sui: Miexie, 'Extinguishing Joy') from Uḍḍiyāna in Northern India. Having heard that our Emperor had revived and restored the Three Jewels, he did not consider five hundred yojanas too distant, but took up his mendicant's staff and travelled far and wide to observe the flourishing transformation. Upon his arrival, he was summoned to the court and ordered to translate sūtras, which were translated at Daxingshan Temple. The Gentleman Attendant (Jishi) Li Daobao and Tanpi, the second son of Prajñāruci, both served as interpreters. The śramaṇa Shi Fazuan of Daxingshan Temple in Chang'an took down the text in the Sui language and put the phrasing and meaning in proper order. The śramaṇa Yancong composed prefaces for both texts.
