The above two works, six fascicles in all: translated into Wu text in Wuchang Commandery in the third year of the Huangwu era by the Indian śramaṇa Vighna (translated in Wu as Zhang'ai [Obstacle]) during the reign of Emperor Wen of Wei. He had mastered the Tripiṭaka and excelled in the four Āgamas. Journeying through various countries, he made teaching and converting his vocation. Departing from the Western Regions, he arrived east of the Yangtze together with his companion Zhu Luyan. Because Vighna was not yet proficient in the local language, during the process of translating from Sanskrit, there were several points that were not fully conveyed; his intent was to preserve the original meaning, so the diction was unadorned.
