自南岳旁出照禪師下至慈雲諸師。皆傳教明宗。分鐙照世。與正統諸祖。相為輝映。作諸祖世家二卷。

From Chan Master Zhao, who branched out collaterally from Nanyue, down to the various masters such as Ciyun, all transmitted the teachings and clarified the school, dividing the lamp to illuminate the world, mutually reflecting with the patriarchs of the orthodox lineage. I have composed the Hereditary Houses of the Patriarchs in two fascicles.
