瑞應經云。佛言。吾自念宿命無數劫時。本為凡人。初求佛道以來。受形五道。生死無量。計吾故身。不能以數（色主切）。
The Ruiying jing says: 'The Buddha said: "When I recall my past lives countless kalpas ago, I was originally an ordinary person. Since first seeking the Buddha path, I have taken form in the five destinies, with births and deaths immeasurable; calculating my past bodies, they cannot be numbered."'
