序曰。如來之先起自大人。厥後轉輪次第承襲。夷攷典籍。略陳氏族之源。蓋將以表章吾佛示生弈世聖王尊貴之家也。

The preface says: The Tathāgata's ancestry began with Mahāsammata, and thereafter cakravartins succeeded one after another. Examining the canonical records, I briefly set forth the origins of the clan, primarily to elucidate that our Buddha manifested birth in an exalted family of holy kings across successive generations.
