12.23

法師智環。學於法智。楊文公勸法智止其焚軀。作書與慈雲。令師往勸住世。法智建放生會。請樞密劉筠撰碑記述。師疊書催之。遂得成文（此下本紀遺失四人）。

Dharma Master Zhihuan studied under Fazhi. When Duke Yang Wengong urged Fazhi to desist from burning his body, he wrote a letter to Ciyun, sending the Master to persuade him to remain in the world. When Fazhi established the Animal Release Society, he requested Bureau Manager Liu Yun to compose an inscription recording it; the Master repeatedly sent letters urging him on, and the text was finally accomplished.
