法師中益。早親智涌。深境觀富辯說。人以是敬服焉。主上虞等慈遷赤城。講貫之餘即入禪懺。旦夜以繼未嘗少閒。錄智涌教義。號虎溪集。

Dharma Master Zhongyi drew close to Zhiyong in his early years. Profound in contemplation of objects and rich in eloquence, he was revered and admired by people for this reason. He presided over Dengci in Shangyu and then moved to Chicheng. Beyond lecturing and studying, he entered into meditation and repentance, continuing day and night without the slightest respite. He recorded Zhiyong’s doctrinal teachings under the title Collection of Tiger Stream.
