16.45

法師從進。妙年聰辯為學早成。久依超果具得其道。出主德藏。講訓有法學者歸之。多述教義發明所得。作楞嚴解尤稱高妙。示寂之日。留龕月餘。容色不變。及從火洛。舌根不壞。若紅蓮華。

Dharma Master Congjin was clever and eloquent in his youth, completing his studies early. He relied upon Chaoguo for a long time and fully attained his Way. He went forth to preside over Dezan, where his lecturing and instruction followed proper methods, and students flocked to him. He composed many explanations of the doctrinal teachings, clarifying what he had realized; his commentary on the Śūraṅgama Sūtra was especially praised as sublime. On the day of his passing, his casket was kept for more than a month, yet his facial complexion did not change. When it was consigned to the flames, his tongue was undamaged, resembling a red lotus flower.
