2.14

夫人攀金園樹枝而生菩薩。諸天王眾。各持香水。共以洗沐（華嚴經）初生之時。於十方面各行七步（涅槃經○大機所見降生相）。

The Lady grasped the branch of a tree in the Golden Garden and gave birth to the Bodhisattva. The hosts of deva kings each held fragrant water and bathed him together. (Avataṃsaka Sūtra.) At the time of his initial birth, he walked seven steps in each of the ten directions. (Nirvāṇa Sūtra. Note: The aspect of birth as seen by great capacities.)
