27.62

僧藏。西河人。夏月在草間餧蚊。念阿彌陀佛二十年許。飲食行坐志在安養。忽於病中見化佛光照其身。次日謂侍者曰。吾適瞑目正在淨土。諸上善人散華召我。乃整衣西向而化。

Sengzang was a native of Xihe. During the summer months, he would feed mosquitoes among the grass and recite Amitābha Buddha's name for about twenty years; whether eating, drinking, walking, or sitting, his intention was fixed on the Land of Peaceful Nurture. Suddenly, while ill, he saw the light of a transformation Buddha illuminate his body. The next day, he said to his attendant, 'Just now when I closed my eyes, I was right in the Pure Land; all the superior and good people scattered flowers and summoned me.' He then adjusted his robes, faced west, and passed away.
