27.73

守真。永興人。講起信論法界觀。常於中夜輪結無量壽佛往生祕密印。至天將曉自覺身登淨土。舉目見佛。自俯伏像前。念曰。四十八願能度我者。乃持香華入殿供養。就座而化。

Shouzhen was a native of Yongxing. He lectured on the *Treatise on Awakening of Faith* and the contemplation of the Dharmadhātu. In the middle of the night, he would regularly form the secret mudrā for rebirth of Amitāyus Buddha. As dawn approached, he felt his own body ascending to the Pure Land. Looking up, he saw the Buddha, and prostrated himself before the image, thinking, "The forty-eight vows are able to deliver me!" He then took incense and flowers, entered the hall to make offerings, took his seat, and passed away.
