28.10

慧安。居四明。下水大魁姚頴之屬也。住小溪楊氏菴專業西方。誦金剛般若寒暑不易節。常於室中佛光下燭。一日示疾。端坐以手搖曳。戒眾人勿諠。移時曰佛至矣。令眾念佛倏然脫去。壽九十六。

Hui'an resided in Siming and belonged to the family of Yao Ying, the grand champion of Xiashui. She lived at the Yang Family Hermitage in Xiaoxi, exclusively practicing for the Western Pure Land. She recited the Diamond Prajñā without changing her routine through cold and heat. Often, the Buddha’s light shone down inside her room. One day, she manifested illness. Sitting upright, she waved her hand and cautioned the crowd not to make noise. After some time, she said, “The Buddha has arrived.” She had the assembly recite the Buddha’s name, and swiftly passed away at the age of ninety-six.
