30.57

次水災壞二禪者。當災起時。地獄餓鬼旁生四洲人趣六欲諸天。次第得生二禪。於二禪中時有一天。自然得三禪定。餘天聞之。皆入此定得生三禪。是時二禪中有俱生水界起壞器世間。猶水消鹽。一時俱沒（有說從三禪邊空中。歘然雨熱灰水。有說從下水輪涌水上騰）是為水災壞二禪。水災過後。如前空二十小劫。如前大雲降雨。風吹水沫成光音天宮。下至地獄後成。

Next is the disaster of water destroying the Second Dhyāna: when the disaster arises, beings in the hells, hungry ghosts, animals, the human destinies of the four continents, and the six desire-realm heavens gradually attain rebirth in the Second Dhyāna. In the Second Dhyāna, a devaputra then spontaneously attains the Third Dhyāna samādhi; the other devas, hearing of this, all enter this samādhi and attain rebirth in the Third Dhyāna. At this time, a co-arising water element arises in the Second Dhyāna to destroy the receptacle world, just as water dissolves salt, submerging everything at once. (Some say that from the sky at the edge of the Third Dhyāna, boiling hot ash-water suddenly rains down; some say that from the water disc below, water gushes and surges upward.) This is the water disaster destroying the Second Dhyāna. After the water disaster has passed, it is empty for twenty small kalpas as before. As before, great clouds rain down, and the wind blowing the water-froth forms the palaces of the Ābhāsvara Heaven, and downwards to the hells, which are formed thereafter.
