九年。自永平以來臣民雖有習浮圖者。天子未之好。至帝始篤好之。於禁中鑄黃金浮圖老子像（佛像與老子像）親於濯龍宮設華蓋之座。用郊天之樂。

In the ninth year: since the Yongping reign, although among the subjects and commoners there were those who practiced Buddhism, the Son of Heaven had not yet favored it. Only with this emperor did an earnest fondness begin. Within the forbidden precinct, he cast golden statues of the Buddha and Laozi (a Buddha statue and a Laozi statue). In person, he set up a canopy-adorned seat at the Zhuolong Palace and used music from the suburban sacrifices to Heaven.
