二年五月。帝幸大莊嚴寺舍身。翌日群臣表請還宮。十一月復幸莊嚴寺發金光明經題。十二月幸莊嚴寺設無礙大會行清淨大舍。翌日群臣表請還宮。金陵七百寺值侯景焚蕩幾盡。自帝登極悉令修復。翻經講道不替前朝。

In the fifth month of the second year, the Emperor visited Dazhuangyan Monastery and renounced his body; the next day, the ministers submitted a memorial requesting his return to the palace. In the eleventh month, he visited Zhuangyan Monastery again to expound the title of the Suvarṇaprabhāsa Sūtra. In the twelfth month, he visited Zhuangyan Monastery, held an unobstructed assembly, and performed the great pure renunciation; the next day, the ministers submitted a memorial requesting his return to the palace. The seven hundred monasteries of Jinling had been almost completely burned and destroyed during Hou Jing's rebellion; from the time the Emperor ascended the throne, he ordered all of them restored, so that the translation of sūtras and lecturing on the Way did not fall short of the previous dynasty.
