熙平元年。太后胡氏於洛陽建永寧寺佛殿。如太極殿。門南如端門。作真金像。高丈六。浮圖九層。高九十丈。上剎高十丈。每夜靜鈴鐸之聲聞於十里。

In the first year of the Xiping reign era, Empress Dowager Hu built the Buddha hall of Yongning Monastery in Luoyang, modeling it on the Taiji Hall, with its south gate like the Duan Gate. She made a statue of pure gold, sixteen feet tall, and a nine-tiered stūpa, ninety zhang in height, with a finial pole ten zhang high. In the stillness of each night, the sound of the bells and chimes was heard for ten li.
