4.31

世尊將入涅槃。是時中夜寂然無聲。為諸弟子略說法要。汝等比丘於我滅後當尊重珍敬波羅提木叉。當知此則是汝大師。若我住世無異此也（遺教經）。

The Bhagavat was about to enter nirvāṇa. At that time, in the deep of midnight, all was silent and without a sound, and he briefly preached the essentials of the Dharma for the disciples: 'You monks, after my passing, should honor, treasure, and respect the Prātimokṣa. You should know that this is your great teacher; it is no different than if I were to abide in the world' (Sūtra of the Buddha's Bequeathed Teaching).
