述曰。自肅宗至昭宗。凡十三帝而唐亡。是知十三寶之賜。所以昭其祚也。史雖載之不知其為天肇之讖也。
The commentary states: From Suzong to Zhaozong, there were thirteen emperors in all before the Tang fell. Thus we know that the bestowal of the thirteen treasures was the means by which its dynastic fortune was made clear. Although the histories record it, they did not recognize it as an omen initiated by Heaven.
