四月。帝夢老君玄元皇帝告曰。吾有像在京城西南。乃遣使至𥂕屋縣樓觀。見紫雲垂覆白光屬天。得玉像高三尺。迎置興慶宮。命有司寫玄元真容。分置諸郡開元觀○。

In the fourth month, the Emperor dreamed that Lord Lao, the Xuanyuan Emperor, told him: 'I have an image southwest of the capital.' Thereupon he sent an envoy to Louguan in Zhouwu County, where purple clouds hovered and white light touched the heavens. A jade image three feet high was obtained and welcomed to Xingqing Palace. He ordered the officials to paint the true countenance of Xuanyuan to be placed separately in the Kaiyuan Temples of each commandery.
