十年。南海經略使馬總上疏。請諡曹溪六祖勅諡大鑑禪師靈照之塔。柳宗元為撰碑。
In the tenth year, Ma Zong, Military Commissioner of Nanhai, submitted a memorial requesting a posthumous title for the Sixth Patriarch of Caoxi. An imperial decree conferred the posthumous title "Chan Master Dajian" and named his stūpa "Lingzhao." Liu Zongyuan composed the inscription.
