二年二月。雪峯義存禪師示寂。十一月玄沙師備禪師示寂。師得法於雪峯。晚居玄沙。學徒千人。應機接物垂二十年。閩王待以師禮。及終賜諡宗一。

In the second year, in the second month, Chan Master Yicun of Xuefeng demonstrated his entry into quiescence. In the eleventh month, Chan Master Shibei of Xuansha demonstrated his entry into quiescence. The master had attained the Dharma under Xuefeng, and in his later years resided at Xuansha with a thousand disciples. He responded to capacities and received people for nearly twenty years. The Prince of Min treated him with the etiquette due a teacher. When he died, he was posthumously granted the name Zongyi.
