五年。詔僧道。每當朝集。僧先道後。並立殿廷。僧東道西。間雜副職。若遇郊天。道左僧右（僧史略）。

In the fifth year [972], an imperial edict decreed concerning Buddhist monks and Daoist priests: Whenever attending court assemblies, monks are to take precedence and Daoists follow, standing together in the palace courtyard, monks on the east and Daoists on the west, interspersed with subordinate officials. When attending the sacrifice to Heaven in the suburbs, Daoists are on the left and monks on the right (Sengshi lüe).
