建中靖國元年。法雲寺佛國禪師惟白。撰續燈錄三十卷進上。賜御製序○七月東坡蘇軾卒於毘陵。時錢濟明侍旁曰。公平生學佛。此日如何。軾曰。此語亦不受。遂化。

In the first year of Jianzhong Jingguo, Chan Master Foguo Weibai of Fayun Monastery compiled the *Continued Lamp Record* in thirty rolls and presented it to the throne; an imperial preface was granted. ○ In the seventh month, Su Shi (Dongpo) passed away in Piling. At that time, Qian Jiming, standing in attendance beside him, said, 'All your life you studied Buddhism; how is it on this day?' Su Shi said, 'Even such words are not to be entertained.' He then passed away.
