八年七月。吳國公主敬重空門。勅品官庶民如有毀辱僧尼罵稱禿字者。照祥符三年指揮治罪○十二月上遜位於皇太子。居龍德宮稱太上皇。

In the eighth year, in the seventh month, the Princess of the State of Wu venerated the Gate of Emptiness. An imperial order decreed that if any ranked official or commoner reviled or insulted monks or nuns, or cursed them with the word 'baldhead,' they should be punished according to the directive of the third year of Xiangfu. In the twelfth month, the Emperor abdicated the throne to the Crown Prince, took up residence in the Longde Palace, and was called the Retired Emperor.
