46.60

○八月有賣菜人至宣德門下。釋擔向門戟手而詈曰。汝壞吾社稷。太祖遣吾來說。汝宜速改捕下開封府獄一夕則不知向所云。蓋神附之言也（通鑑）○。

In the eighth month, a vegetable seller arrived beneath the Xuande Gate. Laying down his load, he pointed his hand at the gate and cursed: 'You have ruined our altars of soil and grain! Taizu sent me to tell you: you had better reform quickly!' He was arrested and cast into the prison of Kaifeng Prefecture; overnight, he no longer knew what he had previously said. It was speech uttered while possessed by a spirit (Tongjian).
