唐高祖。詔正五九及月十齋日。不得行刑屠釣○武后。勅斷天下屠釣○肅宗。詔天下立放生池。凡八十一所。顏真卿撰碑。

Emperor Gaozu of the Tang. He decreed that during the first, fifth, and ninth months, and on the ten fast days of each month, executions, slaughtering, and fishing were not permitted. Empress Wu ordered a ban on slaughtering and fishing throughout the realm. Emperor Suzong decreed the establishment of ponds for releasing living beings throughout the realm, eighty-one places in all; Yan Zhenqing composed the stele inscription.
