52.41

宋徽宗。勅照祖宗舊法。應勳臣戚里功德墳寺自造屋置田。止賜額蠲免科敷。聽本家請住持。不許指占有額寺院○高宗。司諫陳公輔上疏。應臣僚前曾陳乞有額寺院充墳寺功德者。乞照祖宗成法。並與改正○理宗。臣僚言。乞將宰執指占有額寺院。並與追正。

Emperor Huizong of the Song decreed that according to the old laws of the ancestral emperors, whenever meritorious ministers and imperial relatives built buildings and acquired land for funerary Merit Chapels, they should merely be granted a plaque and exemption from requisitions, allowing their families to invite the abbot, but they were not permitted to seize already plaqued monasteries. Under Emperor Gaozong, Remonstrator Chen Gongfu submitted a memorial requesting that, for all officials who had previously requested already plaqued monasteries to serve as funerary Merit Chapels, the established laws of the ancestral emperors be applied to rectify them all. Under Emperor Lizong, officials spoke, requesting that the seizure of already plaqued monasteries by grand councillors and executive officials all be reversed and corrected.
