魏文帝封孔子二十一代孫羨為崇聖侯唐太宗詔以孔子為先聖。封其後為褒聖侯。
Emperor Wen of the Wei enfeoffed Confucius's twenty-first-generation descendant Xian as Marquis of Chongshèng. Emperor Taizong of the Tang decreed that Confucius be honored as the Ancient Sage, and enfeoffed his descendant as Marquis of Baosheng.
