晉康帝。比丘尼淨檢。於本法得戒。有天女下庭。忻然携手。躡光升天○廢帝。洛陽東寺尼道馨說法華維摩。聽者如市○簡文帝。召烏江寺尼道容授八關齋戒○孝武帝。桓溫在姑熟。有異尼來見求浴。以刀破腹斷兩足。謂溫曰。卿若作天子。亦當如是（云云）。

Under Emperor Kang of the Jin: The bhikṣuṇī Jingjian obtained the precepts according to the basic Dharma. A heavenly maiden descended to the courtyard, joyfully took her hand, and stepped upon light to ascend to heaven. ○ Under Emperor Feidi: The nun Daoxin of Dongsi in Luoyang expounded the *Lotus Sūtra* and the *Vimalakīrti-nirdeśa*; the listeners were as dense as a marketplace. ○ Under Emperor Jianwen: He summoned the nun Daorong of Wujiang Monastery to confer the eightfold purification precepts. ○ Under Emperor Xiaowu: Huan Wen was at Gushu. An extraordinary nun came to visit and asked to bathe; cutting open her belly with a knife and severing both feet, she said to Wen: "If you become the Son of Heaven, you will also be like this" (and so forth).
