北魏太武。縊沙門玄高惠崇殺之。弟子法進號呼。即見高於空中。問和上與崇公當生何所。高曰。我往惡處度生。崇公已歸淨土。

Under Emperor Taiwu of the Northern Wei: The śramaṇas Xuan-gao and Huichong were strangled to death. The disciple Fajin cried aloud, and immediately saw Xuan-gao in the sky. He asked, "Where are the Upādhyāya and Master Chong to be born?" Xuan-gao said, "I go to evil destinies to deliver sentient beings; Master Chong has already returned to the Pure Land."
