漢靈帝中平初。鉅鹿張角事黃老。以符水療病。號太平道。十餘年間眾數十萬。時號黃巾賊。皇甫嵩討平之。北魏孝莊時。冀州沙門法慶渤海李歸伯。率鄉人為亂。自號大乘佛。斬害僧尼焚燒經卷。元遙討破之。

At the beginning of the Zhongping era under Emperor Ling of the Han, Zhang Jiao of Julu served Huang-Lao, treating illnesses with talismanic water, and called [his group] the Way of Great Peace. Within a little over ten years, his followers numbered several hundred thousand, and were called the Yellow Turban Bandits at the time. Huangfu Song campaigned against and subdued them. During the reign of Emperor Xiaozhuang of the Northern Wei, the monk Faqing of Jizhou and Li Guibo of Bohai led their townsmen in rebellion, calling themselves the Mahāyāna Buddha. They butchered monks and nuns and burned scriptures; Yuan Yao campaigned against and defeated them.
