6.13

高祖龍樹尊者（本紀在西土第十三祖中）入楞伽經云。善逝涅槃後。未來世當有南天竺比丘。厥號為龍樹。能破有無宗。顯我大乘法。得初歡喜地。往生安養國。

First Patriarch, the Venerable Nāgārjuna (his basic annals are among those of the thirteenth patriarch of the Western Land): The Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra says: / 'After the Sugata's nirvāṇa, / In a future age there shall be / A bhikṣu of South India / Whose name will be Nāgārjuna. / Capable of destroying the doctrines of existence and non-existence, / He will illuminate my Mahāyāna teaching, / Attain the first joyful stage, / And be reborn in the Land of Peace and Nurture.'
