9.16

禪師慧命天台仙城人。來參南岳。聞說三觀深悟玄旨。得無礙辯說法如瀉。將終誡門人精進淨行。眾忽見阿彌陀佛與大士來迎。即隨佛向西升空而去。

Dhyāna Master Huiming was a native of Xiancheng on Tiantai. He came to attend Nanyue. Hearing him explain the threefold contemplation, he deeply awakened to the abstruse purport; he attained unhindered eloquence and preached the Dharma like a torrent. When about to pass away, he admonished his disciples to be diligent in pure conduct. The assembly suddenly saw Amitābha Buddha and the Mahāsattva come to welcome him; he thereupon followed the Buddha, ascended into the sky toward the west, and departed.
