Huiqian: At the end of the Jin dynasty, he lived at Mount Lu. Witnessing the flourishing virtue and practice of Master Yuan, he sighed and said: "I am a human being, and so is he!" Thereupon he went to Jiaxiang Monastery in Shanyin, where he gathered disciples and lectured on the scriptures. He said to the assembly: "I vow to use the merits of lecturing and guiding to make offering to Amitābha." Five years later, knowing his time had come, he said: "The time for the lotus to blossom and to see the Buddha is now!" That evening, the nun Jingyan, during a momentary nap, saw Avalokiteśvara and Mahāsthāmaprāpta descending from the sky accompanied by an assembly of hundreds of thousands. Jingyan asked the Great Beings: "Where are you going?" They replied: "We are going to Jiaxiang to welcome the Venerable Qian." Qian had also foreseen this extraordinary sign beforehand and informed his disciples. He then passed away peacefully. An extraordinary fragrance did not dissipate for ten days.
