Faxiang resided at Daxingguo Temple in Yangdu. For thirty years, he cultivated the karma of the Land of Peaceful Nurturance, dedicating every beneficial deed toward it. During his illness, his disciples heard the Master chanting the Buddha's name in an extremely powerful voice, and they saw the west wall of his room shining like a mirror, revealing the scenes of the Pure Land with kalaviṅkas flapping their wings. Xiang suddenly passed away.
