3.46

If judged by capacity and teaching, it inevitably combines the provisional. That is, passages such as 'at the initial arising of the mind of bodhi, one immediately achieves sambodhi' preach the Perfect Teaching for capacities of the Perfect; while preaching sequential arrangement everywhere preaches the Distinct Teaching for provisional capacities. Therefore, in terms of section it is the Sudden, but in terms of teaching it is called combined (see *Miaoxuan*, fascicle 10, and *Sijiaoyi*).
