When it increases to forty-nine years, entering 10,000 years into the Final Dharma, Candraprabha Bodhisattva will appear in Cīnasthāna (that is, the eastern land, Zhèndàn), expounding the Dharma for a full fifty-two years. After delivering sentient beings extensively and entering nirvāṇa, the Śūraṅgama Sūtra and the Pratyutpanna Samādhi Sūtra will be the first to disappear and not be seen; the remaining sutras will disappear in sequence. The Sukhāvatīvyūha Sūtra will remain for a final hundred years, delivering sentient beings on a grand scale, and then disappear (Benqi jing; note: The Sukhāvatīvyūha Sūtra says: 'In future ages when the scriptures are entirely destroyed, out of compassion and pity I will specially cause this sutra to abide for a hundred years; if there are sentient beings who encounter this sutra, they may all attain deliverance according to their wishes.' The Vow of Nanyue says: 'I now vow to uphold this sutra so that it is not destroyed until the appearance of Maitreya Buddha in the world').
