In the fifth year, the Yuezhi upāsaka Zhi Qian came to Luoyang. Qian had received instruction from Zhi Liang, and Liang had received instruction from Lokakṣema (Zhi Chen). People of the time said that for broad learning under heaven, none surpassed the Three Zhis. Qian was tall, slender, dark, and lean, with yellow pupils in his eyes. People of the time had a saying: 'Master Zhi has yellow in his eyes; though his frame is slender, he is a bag of wisdom.' Later, avoiding trouble, he retreated to Wu, where he was appointed an Erudite (boshi).
Also, the Western Indian monk Vighna came to Wu together with Zhu Luyan and translated five scriptures.
