In the sixth year, the emperor established a vihāra in the inner palace, revering the Buddha and summoning monks of eminent virtue to reside within and practice the Way. Dharma Master Huiyuan (a disciple of Master Dao'an) went from Xiangyang to Mount Lu and established the Longquan Vihāra. When the master first arrived at the mountain, he dreamed of a spirit who informed him, saying, 'This mountain is well suited to house your spirit; please do not go elsewhere.' That evening there was heavy rain with thunder and lightning; the forest valley opened wide, white sand covered the ground, and camphor, nanmu, and figured catalpa trees lay strewn in abundance. Huan Yi, the Inspector of Jiujiang, thereupon built a monastery for him called Donglin, and its hall was called Divine Transport. The master prayed on the river, and Tao Kan's Mañjuśrī statue suddenly floated up out of the water; he then welcomed it into the hall and built a multistoried pavilion to enshrine it. The śramaṇa Fazheng translated one hundred and eleven texts, including the Qianfo ming jing (Sūtra on the Names of the Thousand Buddhas).
