Thirteenth year. Earlier, Master Zhi had once climbed Mount Zhong with the Emperor, and pointing to Dulong Ridge, said, 'This is a tomb site; the one who goes first will obtain it.' In this year, he passed away in the Buddha hall of the Hualin Garden. The Emperor, remembering his words, ordered the officials to prepare his burial at this site and built a five-tiered stūpa above it. When the imperial carriage arrived at the burial to present offerings, he suddenly saw the Mahāsattva emerge in the clouds; he thereupon founded Kaishan Temple for him.
