The appraisal says: The divine light and golden body were the auspicious signs of a Buddhist Mahāsattva. He opened an auspicious era in the midst of the prolonged distress of the Five Dynasties, and stepped onto the great throne at a time when the whole world yearned for good order. Moreover, he knew to promote the teachings and protect the Dharma, ruling over the people and things with benevolence to secure the long-lasting blessings of the altars of soil and grain. Had he not been the manifested birth of a Buddhist Mahāsattva, who could have accomplished this?
