In the tenth year, there was a summer drought. The Emperor fasted and prayed with utmost reverence in the inner palace. In the night he dreamed of a divine monk riding a horse in the sky and spitting clouds and mist from his mouth. When he awoke, heavy rain poured down. An edict ordered that an image of him be sought; it was found in the thirteenth Arhat in the pavilion of Xiàngguó Monastery. An edict was issued to welcome it into the palace for offerings. Prime Minister Wáng Guī presented a poem in congratulation, stating: 'A good minister making rain has long disappointed expectations; / A divine monk creating mist answered sincere prayer.' (Note: Dōngxuān bǐlù).
